Save the date wording for Lake Wapello

Potential wording for a save the date announcement for Chris and Elizabeth for Lake Wapello:

Save the Date for a

White wedding

Plan on joining Chris and Elizabeth
at the waterside stone courtyard of a tranquil
castle-like lodge near Bloomfield, Iowa
the evening of next June 25, 2011.

It is our biggest wish that Guests wear
only shades of white and/or Khaki brown.

Make it a family vacation week:

Beautiful and secluded lakeside cabins and camp spots
are available for rent for the evening or the week,
and activities are planned for each day
from Wednesday, June 22
through Sunday July 3.

Group USA, Kansas City 10.6.26

We were really getting tired by the time we got to Group USA.  No other brides were there when we showed up, but by the time the girls started trying things on, several brides showed up.  Even April ended up trying a gown on, just because she loved it so much and no one else wanted to try it on.  We were definitely 'toast' by the time we were done here, and headed out to Mexican for dinner afterward.

David's Bridal, Kansas City 10.6.26

The David's Bridal store was packed by the time we made it there on Saturday.  People everywhere and barely a spot to sit or stand.  Both girls tried on dresses, but Christie really only liked one, and Elizabeth found a couple she really liked.  She took a chance on the second to last gown, and everyone was shocked how good she looked in it.  The attendant explained that most brides are afraid of it, which was understandable.  it is definitely a statement gown...

This was the surprisingly great gown that scares brides.  You see them frequently photographed as they are really beautiful, but definitely non-traditional.

Christie's bridesmaids gowns, Mia's Bridal, Kansas City, MO

So my colors were, WERE going to be yellow purple and green, but through chattering and discussion and finding they were so close to what I had been talking about, yellow would not work well unless the chiffon on top was yellow (instead of the satin underneath), as it would bleach out Kendra. .... but the colors being so bright wouldn't work next to each other. So now I have teal instead of yellow. ... well all cool colors worked better but still felt like neon staring me in the face. So white chiffon over the colors is what was decided, which are the pictures below. There were 2 dresses that could have any color under and any color over, so we had them try both on.

This is what was decided on.... Lizz would be in the Olive on the far right. April would be in eggplant on the far right and Kendra in the teal in the middle.  This is white chiffon over colored satin.

This is the colored chiffon over the white satin, and not the quite look we were going for.

This is the style that looked good on everyone.  Using a bit of imagination, picture them with white chiffon over the colors

It was unanimous that the style of the green gown looked best.

I am 85 to 90 percent sure this is what I want for my bridesmaids dresses...

...and the color change makes everything but the bouquets easier and simpler which is ok because I haven't bought my flowers yet.
